Sydney Sweeney speaks out on American Eagle jeans ad after 4 months

About four months ago American Eagle played an ad that declared "jeans" as a play on "genes."

Sydney Sweeney's narrative in the ad: “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color." After a pause, she says, "My jeans are blue.”

According to People, wI did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my lifehen asked by GQ about the ad, Sweeney replied simply, "I love jeans."

Regarding President Donald Trump praising her jean ad for American Eagle, Sydney Sweeney said, "It was surreal." 

According to People, Sydney Sweeney's documented party preference is Republican, but has never commented publicly about her political affiliation, and she has not publicly endorsed or supported Trump.

The ad was criticized for promoting eugenics, white supremacy, and hypersexualizing women
