Two United planes involved in minor crash near gates at San Francisco International Airport

Labor Day, Monday night, September 1, 2025, a United aircraft being pushed back from the gate at San Francisco International Airport made contact with the tail of a parked United aircraft. United Airlines Flight 1871 struck United Airlines Flight 796 while pushing back from the gate at San Francisco International Airport around 9:10 p.m. local time on Monday, Sept. 1. United Airlines Flight 1871 was towed back to the gate where passengers deplaned normally. This occurred in an area where air traffic controllers do not communicate with flights. The FAA will investigate.  Flights involved:  United Airlines Flight 1871 to Denver,  United Airlines Flight 796 to Boston No injuries were reported.
