Jeju Air Flight 2216 crashed at Muan International Airport, South Korea on Sunday, December 29, 2024 after traveling from takeoff from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand at 2:11 a.m. The Boeing 737-800 crashed at about 9:00 a.m. Sunday, December 29,  2024, when the aircraft made a belly landing on the Runway 19 without the main landing gear deployed, and the flight overshot the runway at Muan International Airport. Video appears to show that the aircraft hit an embankment or structure and an ILS array (Instrument Landing System antennas) at the end of the runway, and then there was an eruption of flames. Aviation expert David Learmount claimed on Sky News after the crash that a solid structure should not have been located at the end of the runway.
