Amazon's AWS outage affects many Internet services
Amazon Web Services, the leading provider of cloud infrastructure technology, accounting for about a third of all cloud services, experience a major outage early Monday, October 20, 2025. There appeared to be a recovery mid-morning CDT Monday, but then a spike in trouble again late morning and afternoon. The financial impact could amount to hundreds of billions of dollars. Amazon claims the underlying problem has been mitigated. However, data is missing and significant disruptions still exist for some web services.
