House explosion after gas leak report kills utility worker and homeowner in Bel Air, Maryland
Firefighters and paramedics from Harford County responded about 6:40 a.m. Sunday, August 11, 2024 to a report of an outdoor gas leak and odor in the block of 2300 Arthur Woods Drive in Bel Air. While firefighters were responding to the scene, there was an update that a house had exploded. The home next door was heavily damaged. A BGE contractor, age 35, was investigating the gas odor when the explosion occurred was found dead at the scene. BGE (Baltimore Gas and Electric Company) is an Exelon Company.
