According to the U.S. Geological Survey, an earthquake struck around 12:20 p.m. PT Monday, August 12, 2024 about 2.5 miles south-southeast of Highland Park (and about 3.5 miles northeast of the Chinatown neighborhood) in Los Angeles. The Highland Park neighborhood is located between the City of Pasadena and the Chinatown neighborhood in Los Angeles. The earthquake was initially reported as magnitude 4.7.
