Los Angeles pallet fire on 14th St that caused full closure of 10 Freeway
Los Angeles Fire Department: Update Structure Fire; INC#0031; 02:33AM; 1745 E 14th St; https://bit.ly/3udjCbS; Downtown; The fire load in both pallet yards is mostly consumed. Firefighters have successfully defended three exposed commercial buildings from fire extension. The fire impinged the underside of the 10 Freeway and CalTrans is on scene for freeway inspection. CHP has a full closure of the 10 Freeway with traffic being diverted EB at Alameda and WB at Santa Fe. Follow https://cad.chp.ca.gov/Traffic.aspx for traffic updates. The cross arm of high tension wire is down on 14th St with energized lines, LADWP is on scene to handle. LAFD Heavy Equipment operators are enroute to assist with moving the debris to provide firefighters access to the pockets of fire. Official knockdown is not yet declared but the overhaul operation will last throughout the morning.
