Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq drop due to PCE inflation concerns

The Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq were all down around 1% or less Friday, August 29, 2025 mid-day. Nvidia was down over 3% Friday mid-day and was down -1.94% at 12:18 PM EDT.

The "core" Personal Consumption Expenditures index (PCE), a measure of inflation studied by the central bank, rose 0.3% on a monthly basis and 2.9% on an annual basis. The Fed's inflation target was 2%.
