Bryan Kohberger transferred to maximum security state prison; begins life sentence without parole Idaho Maximum Security Institute

Bryan Kohberger has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murders of four University of Idaho students in 2022. Kohberger was transferred to the notorious Idaho Maximum Security Institute on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Kohberger may begin his sentence in solitary confinement, but inmates are typically not kept in solitary confinement indefinitely, and could enter general population with other killers. There is speculation there could several other inmates in general population that would want to kill Kohberger.
