Elon Musk comments on rioting in the United Kingdom criticized by British leaders

Elon Musk was accused of causing increased tension after days of far-right rioting in Britain, which was allegedly triggered by online misinformation around the stabbing murders of three girls in Southport in northern England in July 2024.

There have also been the debates over "two-tier policing" which defines a situation where some protesters are treated more favorably than others. The debate is whether two-tier policing exists or not.

Conservative leadership hopeful Tom Tugendhat rejected Elon Musk's claim that civil war was inevitable in the United Kingdom, and called Musk or his comment "delusional".

The social media platform Bluesky reported a surge in signups in the United Kingdom recently, correlated with British leaders indicating they would leave X.com or reduce their usage due to their perceived controversial comments by Elon Musk.
