Poland buys 96 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters from the United States
Boeing AH-64E Apache attack helicopters and related equipment from the United States are replacing post-Soviet Mi-24 helicopters at a cost of about $12 billion. Poland will have the second largest fleet of Apache Attack Helicopters in the world after the United States.
Poland's 18th Mechanized Division will be equipped with some of the Apache attack helicopters along with Abrams tanks. Poland purchased 116 former U.S. Marine Corps M1A1s in January 2023. Deliveries were completed in June 2024. Poland also purchased 250 M1A2 SEP v3 tanks. Production is set to finish by 2024, and delivery in early 2025.
After the Poland's donation of over 200 Polish T-72 tanks to Ukraine, an agreement between the Polish and American governments was signed to buy 116 ex-U.S. Abrams M1A1s.
