Opill Daily Oral Contraceptive "Abortion Pill" ('Do Not Use as an Emergency Contraceptive') available on Amazon

Opill, a norgestrel pill, was launched on the company website and as a product available on Amazon on Monday, March 18, 2024. In 2023, subsidiary, HRA Pharma, received approval from the FDA to sell an over the counter women’s contraception drug Norgestrel -- progestin which is used in birth control pills sold under the brand name Opill. A pill known as Ovral is a combination pill including Norgestrel with ethinylestradiol (estrogen), and is a trademark of proprietor Wyeth LLC with Pfizer the licensed user on the label.  Wyeth was purchased by Pfizer in 2009.

Although Opill has been called an abortion pill informally and in the news media, the box is labeled with DO NOT USE AS AN EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVE.

Norgestrel is marketed under a variety of brand names including Cyclacur, Cryselle, Cyclo-Progynova, Duoluton, Elinest, Eugynon, Microgynon, Lo/Ovral, Low-Ogestrel, Logynon, Microlut, Minicon, Nordette, Neogest, Ogestrel, Opill, Ovral, Ovran, Ovranette, Ovrette, Planovar, Prempak, Progyluton, and Trinordiol and others.

On Wednesday, March 20, 2024 all models on the Opill store front page on Amazon had nasal jewelry (for the interest of marketing concepts and strategies).
