Generation of child web addicts becoming obsessed with the Internet as parents struggle to keep control of their online usage in UK

According to media watchdog Ofcom 83% of youth age 12-15 have a smartphone, and 50% have a tablet. Among 12-15 year-olds, 62% watch TV on other devices, such as a tablet; 99% spend 20.5 hours per week online. The annual report was based on 2,000 interviews.

Interesting that the Ofcom study found that YouTube was 'a near permanent feature' of many young peoples' lives.

Ofcom is the Office of Communications, the UK government-approved regulatory and competition authority for the broadcasting, telecommunications and postal industries of the United Kingdom.
